Comedian Jim Gaffigan is coming to the Great Minnesota Get-Together.

Gaffigan, a Catholic who occasionally uses his faith tastefully in his comedy routines, will perform at the Minnesota State Fair Grandstand 8 p.m. Aug. 26. He is known for his clean-style comedy, TV show and books, with a focus on fatherhood, marriage and food — especially Hot Pockets. He performed for Pope Francis during the World Meeting of Families in Philadelphia in 2015.

“The Catholic thing, it’s very much evolved,” Gaffigan told Catholic News Service that year. “I don’t think comedians set out to do a certain style of comedy. I messed around with different styles of stand-up when I started, and you always end up doing what your personality is.”

Gaffigan and his wife, Jeannie, have five children and live in New York.

Tickets range $50-60 and go on sale at www.etix.com Feb. 24.
