Catholic Services appeal — A ‘caress to those in need’

At our pre-synod Prayer and Listening events, we have consistently heard that the growth of our Church depends upon our ability to give a clearer witness to the difference that Jesus has made in our lives, especially by imitating his sacrificial love and concern for those in need. Each year, the Catholic Services Appeal Foundation (CSAF) gives us a powerful opportunity to offer that witness by supporting the broader works of the Church undertaken in our archdiocese.

2018 appeal increases goal, adds new ministry

This year, the Catholic Services Appeal Foundation is increasing both its fundraising goal and its impact, with the addition of another supported ministry. Rachel’s Vineyard, a ministry for men and women seeking post-abortive healing, is joining the other 17 ministries the annual appeal previously supported in the Archdiocese of St. Paul and Minneapolis.

Better storytelling helped 2016 CSA reach goal

The Catholic Services Appeal is kicking off its 2017 campaign with a new initiative seeking a broad impact: $1,000 scholarships for eligible students attending Catholic elementary schools in the Archdiocese of St. Paul and Minneapolis. The appeal will continue to support 11 of the archdiocese’s neediest Catholic elementary schools, as it has in the past, but this allows the appeal’s education dollars to touch more people and parishes, said Jennifer Beaudry, Catholic Services Appeal Foundation executive director.

Last year, Catholic Services Appeal pledges exceeded the $9.3 million goal, and its leaders are hopeful that the 2017 appeal will have an even greater impact.
