Deacon Lawrence Swirtz, 86, died Feb. 19. He was born Jan. 22, 1927 and ordained a permanent deacon for the Archdiocese of St. Paul and Minneapolis on June 10, 1978.
Deacon Swirtz served at Holy Name in Minneapolis and St. Edward in Bloomington. He also served as the director of the local office of the Society for the Propagation of the Faith.
The Mass of Christian Burial was Feb. 22 at the Church of St. Edward in Bloomington.
