Deacon Timmerman last served St. Philip

Deacon Dale Timmerman, who retired from ministry in December 2009 after serving as deacon at St. Philip in Minneapolis for nine years, died May 26. He was 67.

He was born Dec. 5, 1944. He retired from US Bank after working there for 34 years and was ordained a permanent deacon for the Archdiocese of St. Paul and Minneapolis in 1998. He served as deacon at St. Peter in Forest Lake for two years.

Deacon Timmerman and his wife, Nancy, were married for 45 years and had two children, Nathan Timmerman and Sarah Niemi.

A funeral Mass was celebrated May 31 at Church of the Ascension in Minne­apolis, with interment at St. Peter’s Ceme­tery in Forest Lake.
