Father Richard Berg, 85, died Dec. 26. He was born Nov. 13, 1927 and ordained for the archdiocese of St. Paul and Minneapolis June 7, 1952.

Father Berg served as associate pastor at Resurrection and Our Lady of Victory in Minneapolis and St. Michael in West St. Paul. He was pastor at Sts. Peter and Paul in Loretto, St. Michael in Stillwater, St. John the Baptist in New Brighton, St. Peter in Forest Lake and St. Francis of Assisi in Lake St. Croix Beach.

He retired from active ministry in 1997, but continued to help with sacramental ministry at Our Lady of Peace in Minneapolis and other parishes.

The Mass of Christian burial was to be Jan. 2 at St. Francis of Assisi in Lake St. Croix Beach. Burial is at St. Michael Cemetery in Bayport.
