About 135 students and others from St. Lawrence Catholic Church and Newman Center processed with the Eucharist Oct. 8 through the Minneapolis campus of the University of Minnesota and nearby Dinkytown.

The annual 1.8-mile procession in the evening is a public witness for Christ on campus and streets that pass nearby businesses, apartments and houses that also includes adoration of the Eucharist and Benediction at St. Lawrence Newman Center.

During the procession, the pastor, Father Jake Anderson, carries a monstrance holding the body of Christ under a canopy, accompanied by altar servers bearing candles and people singing, praying and carrying candles as they participate.
