Interfaith Outreach and Community Partners kicked off its 17th annual Sleep Out campaign Nov. 10 with prayer walks and family activities in Plymouth and Wayzata. Both walks featured five prayer stops that represent the needs of the people IOCP serves: housing, employment, transportation, child care and food.
The goal of the 2012 Sleep Out is to raise $1.95 million — an increase of $150,000 over last year — to help 1,700 struggling families in the community meet their basic needs. The campaign runs through Dec. 31. Holy Name of Jesus and St. Bartholomew, both in Wayzata, are participating in the campaign.
