Steven C. Anderson will bring his piano playing, a guitarist, cellist and three vocalists to his parish — St. Joseph in West St. Paul — Dec. 30 for a 2 p.m. Christmas concert.

“I just kind of felt we needed one more show, like we were just warming up after two,” Anderson, a multi-platinum pianist and composer, told Kayla Mayer, producer of the “Practicing Catholic” radio show, for a program that debuts at 9 p.m. Dec. 22 on Relevant Radio 1330 AM.
“The whole group can make it. And I am super excited,” Anderson said of following up his Dec. 7 and Dec. 8 concerts, which were held at the Cathedral of St. Paul in St. Paul.
The Cathedral shows were titled “Christmas Together with Steven C.” Proceeds benefited ongoing restoration efforts at the Cathedral. The concert at St. Joseph is titled “Christmas in Gratitude” and it will be free.
“It’s actually the sixth day of Christmas (Dec. 30), and so with that, we’re going to have some extra, some new music to put in there. And … it’s like a homecoming concert,” Anderson said.
To hear Anderson perform renditions of “What Child is This” and “Little Drummer Boy,” listen to the full episode of “Practicing Catholic,” which repeats at 1 p.m. Dec. 23 and 2 p.m. Dec. 24.
Produced by Relevant Radio and the Archdiocese of St. Paul and Minneapolis, the latest “Practicing Catholic” show also includes St. Paul-based musician and recording artist Luke Spehar; and Alex Schindler, a Twin Cities-based Catholic worship leader, liturgical musician and singer-songwriter.
