Father Bruce Peterson will retire from active ministry on July 1. He has served St. Columbkill, Belle Creek and Holy Trinity, Goodhue since 1970 with St. Mary, Bellechester added as a third parish in 2002.
Father Peterson was born Nov. 2, 1930 in Minneapolis. He graduated from Southwest High School in 1948, and attended Nazareth Hall Preparatory Seminary in Roseville and St. Paul Seminary. He was ordained Feb. 17, 1957.
He also served as assistant pastor at St. Charles Boromeo in St. Anthony; Christ the King and Ascension in Minneapolis, and St. Joseph in Circle Pines.
All are invited to a retirement party for Father Peterson from 2 to 5 p.m. June 30 at the Goodhue Lions Building in Goodhue.
