Virtuoso Samuel Backman will perform all French music — a tribute to the Beaux Arts-styled Cathedral of St. Paul — in the final organ concert of the cathedral’s centennial year celebration series at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 10.

Backman, music director at Good Shepherd in Golden Valley, will utilize the cathedral’s new moveable console which will allow the audience to see the Duluth native and Yale-trained organist play in front of the cathedral’s main altar.

The concert of selections by composers Gigout, Guilmant, Alain and Duruflé is free. Goodwill donations will be accepted.

The Cathedral of St. Paul is located at 239 Selby Ave. in St. Paul at the intersection of Summit and Selby Avenues.
