Five eighth-grade students are set to graduate from St. Maximilian Kolbe Catholic School in Delano this year — the first eighth-grade graduating class since 1975 when the school was St. Peter’s Catholic School.
According to the 2022-2023 Annual Report on Catholic Education (PDF), preschool through sixth grade enrollment had nearly doubled in five years at the school, which prompted administrators to reinstate a middle school program.
The school also added a seventh grade, reinstating the full middle school.
Auxiliary Bishop Joseph Williams will celebrate a graduation Mass for the students on May 28 at the parish.
