Deacon James Murphy, died March 27. He was born April 5, 1932.

He was ordained a permanent deacon for the Archdiocese of St. Paul and Minneapolis in 1992 and served St. John the Evangelist in Hopkins, where he worshiped with his wife, Charlene, and their children.

He retired from active ministry in 2008.

A funeral Mass was celebrated April 2 at St. John the Evangelist.
