“Seeing God,” a juried exhibit of sacred art, opened Jan. 28 at the Benedictine Center at St. Paul’s Monastery in Maplewood.
According to the center, the exhibit “features the works of local artists whose creative process captures a sense of the divine when seeing the world.”
The 37 artworks featured meet three criteria: They’re rooted in themes drawn from religious traditions, Scripture, nature, the human journey and an interpretation of the mystery of life; they show how art reveals a deeper sense of wonder; and they are appropriate for an environment that daily meets the Benedictine sisters who live at the monastery and their guests.
