His Excellency, the Most Rev. John C. Nienstedt, has announced the following appointments in the Archdiocese of Saint Paul and Minneapolis.

Effective January 2, 2014

Most Reverend Andrew Cozzens, appointed “ad nutum episcopi” as parochial administrator of the Church of Saint Cecilia in Saint Paul, Minnesota. Bishop Cozzens succeeds the Rev. Thomas O’Brien, who submitted his resignation as pastor. Father O’Brien will continue to serve in his position at St. Thomas Academy.

Very Reverend Charles Lachowitzer, appointed “ad nutum episcopi” as parochial administrator of the Church of Saint Peter in Mendota, Minnesota.

Father Lachowitzer will cover pastoral responsibilities while the current pastor, the Rev. Joseph Gallatin, is on a leave of absence.

Effective January 6, 2014

Reverend Benny Mekkatt Varghese, CFIC, appointed “ad nutum episcopi” as parochial administrator of the Church of the Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Maplewood, Minnesota.

Effective January 14, 2014

Most Reverend Andrew Cozzens, appointed “ad nutum episcopi” as parochial administrator of the Church of Saint Boniface in Minneapolis. Bishop Cozzens will cover pastoral responsibilities while the current pastor, the Rev. Mark Wehmann, is on a leave of absence.

Effective February 1, 2014

Reverend Peter Williams, appointed vice rector of the Saint Paul Seminary in Saint Paul. Father Williams will continue in his office of pastor of the Church of the Maternity of the Blessed Virgin in Saint Paul.
