Providing significant help even in the midst of a pandemic, contributions in the Archdiocese of St. Paul and Minneapolis to the annual appeal for the Retirement Fund for Religious priests, brothers and sisters totaled $420,292 in 2020-2021, and was the fourth largest total in the country.

Of the 169 dioceses that participated last year, only the dioceses of Buffalo and Rockville Centre in New York and the Archdiocese of Chicago had more appeal donations. The fund supports retirement needs for religious communities across the country. The 2019-2020 appeal total in the archdiocese was $524,921. Appeal donations are transmitted to the national office at the end of March. The office’s sponsors are the Conference of Major Superiors of Men, the Council of Major Superiors of Women Religious, the Leadership Conference of Women Religious and the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops.
