More than 100 seventh- and eighth-grade students from St. Hubert School in Chanhassen spent March 12 at Cub Foods purchasing items to donate to People Reaching Out to Other People, a local food shelf and multi-service organization serving the Chanhassen and Eden Prairie area. The project is a part of St. Hubert's larger social justice curriculum. The students partnered with People Reaching Out to Other People to better understand food costs and how providing food for a family impacts people with no or limited incomes. The students had to earn the money themselves outside of school and try to stretch their $10 to $20 budget by finding coupons.
