St. Thomas hockey: Titles come in threes

The day after the tournament, senior forward Grant Besse of Benilde-St. Margaret’s, pictured, was named Mr. Hockey. As a junior, Besse scored all five of his team’s goals in the Class AA championship game against Hill-Murray, a 5-2 win. Besse picked up where he left off last year, scoring 48 goals for the Red Knights this season. The team advanced to the Class 2A Section 6 finals, losing to Way­zata 5-2.
