An annual appeal to help fund more than 20 ministries across the Archdiocese of St. Paul and Minneapolis is part of the “glue” that holds the Catholic community together in Christ, said Tizoc Rosales, president of the Catholic Services Appeal Foundation

Ministries such as hospital chaplains, Latino, American Indian, evangelization, youth and pro-life work, helping meet the financial needs of seminarians and families sending their children to Catholic school, are all part of being the hands and feet of Jesus, Rosales told Patrick Conley in the latest episode of “Practicing Catholic,” debuting 9 p.m. Feb. 25 on Relevant Radio 1330 AM.

“With these great works, with these great ministries, everyone has a role in this,” Rosales said. “And so, that’s how we can be part of that glue. Part of that solution, of connecting those who want to help with those who are in the trenches.”

CSAF’s appeal kicks off in parishes Feb. 26-27. It includes a video message featuring a young girl, a windy day, ways to help with a $100 bill and Archbishop Bernard Hebda

To hear more about ways the appeal helps others, tune in to the show, which also airs on Relevant Radio at 1 p.m. Feb. 26 and 2 p.m. Feb. 27.

Produced by Relevant Radio and the Archdiocese of St. Paul and Minneapolis, the latest show includes interviews with Father Michael Van Sloun on the importance of Ash Wednesday and Kate Soucheray, a retired marriage and family therapist and a columnist for The Catholic Spirit, who describes how “giving something up” may not be the best way to consider Lenten sacrifices.
