When Father Larry Blake’s cell phone rings, he knows it’s likely to be a serious call summoning him to Hennepin County Medical Center in downtown Minneapolis.
Donations to the 2015 Catholic Services Appeal are earmarked for priesthood formation, Catholic education and a host of ministries that focus on both the spiritual and temporal needs of God’s people in the Archdiocese of St. Paul and Minneapolis.

That’s how Tim Healy described the atmosphere surrounding the Archdiocese of St. Paul and Minneapolis a year ago, as allegations of child sexual abuse by members of local clergy surfaced, and media stories quoted Catholics who described diminished trust in archdiocesan leadership.
The Catholic Services Appeal has now reached more than $9.2 million in gifts and pledges toward the 2012 CSA goal of $9.3 million. An additional 11 parishes have gone over their CSA goal, bringing the total number of parishes over goal to 117.
An additional 33 parishes have exceeded their 2012 Catholic Services Appeal goal, bringing the total number of parishes over goal to 106. The 2012 CSA has now reached more than $8.7 million in gifts and pledges towards the goal of $9.3 million.
